Noon Cupping Club
Cup Coffees You'd Never Try on Your Own.
If you're curious about specialty coffee, want to develop your palate, or you're tired of drinking the same three coffees on repeat, Noon Cupping Club is our gift to Calgary's coffee community. Free to attend, once a month, one hour at lunch.
We taste four to six coffees together using the SCA cupping method, the same way roasters, buyers, and Q Graders evaluate coffee. No experience needed. You'll leave with a clearer sense of what different coffees taste like and a broader vocabulary to describe them.
Registration is free but seats fill up. Grab yours in advance and bring a friend if you like.
What You'll Walk Away With
- Try four to six different coffees in one session
- Learn the SCA cupping method used by coffee professionals
- Develop your palate in a low-pressure setting
- Meet other Calgary coffee people
- See if formal coffee training is right for you
Everything You Need to Know Before You Come.
Trent Rollings
I founded Timberline and am the lead educator at the school. I've spent years in the industry as a World Coffee Championships Representative and Certified Judge, Q Grader/Instructor, and an Accredited Coffee Trainer, and have experience running coffee shops, a roastery, and training labs.
In class, my focus is creating a safe, fun environment to practice and develop your skills. I break concepts down so they're easier to understand and give you time to try them yourself.

"Trent is a great instructor. Well organized, communication was super clear, and he was quick to answer any questions before and after the class."
Small class, tons of hands-on time. I finally understand how to dial in at home.
Worth every dollar. Trent explains the why behind everything, not just the how.
Good to Know.
